All the site's information are stored in the control center by the NetPOD application. The user can connect to the control center by:
- The client application of NetPOD named ANT supervisor. It is a GUI (graphical user interface) that enables the authorized user to manage and configure the system using graphical tools. This application can be run on a PC with a network connection to the server.
- By SMS text messages. The user receives alarms/events by the system or sends commands using a simple text language.
- By e-mail text messages. As for the SMS text messages, in the same way the user can receive alarms/events and send alarms thru e-mail.
How can the connection between server and client occur?
The firmware on the RDF can handle a number of different media interfaces so the sites can be reached in many ways: basically what is needed is a very low data-rate connection.
Virtually any type of media that uses an SCI (serial communication interface) can be used.
- Serial RS232
- Ethernet
- VHF/UHF radio
- GSM dialup
- PSTN dialup
- GPRS

All those you want!
The system is divided into network, each network can contain from 1 to 255 RDFs and the theoretical limit is 65536 networks per server, that is 16711680 RDFs per server. Why theoretical? Because if your network is bigger, you will be enough to add a server!
What is the server application?
The server application is the NetPOD server side software named NetPOD Manager.
More datails in the NetPOD section.
What is the client application?
The client application is the NetPOD client side software named NetPOD Supervisor. This application interfaces to the NetPOD Manager being its GUI (graphical user interface): it is a simple graphical interface to the Garda System.

Any kind of media can be used both to connect the server with the RDF and to reach the server by the user in the control center. See the schema below.
