RDF in brief
RDF is the main data collection hardware of the Garda System.
In any site, one or more RDF are polling input data; should any data be outside a threshold, the RDF will immediately report to the control center, otherwise it will keep silent.
RDF microcontroller RTOS (real time Operating System) will constantly:
- Check on-board analog inputs, timestamps and store in the local memory all relevant data
- Check on-board digital inputs, for change of state, and store in the local memory all relevant data
- Check outputs for the correct status and execute programmed or incoming commands
- Check its own functionality (auto diagnostic) and reports in real time to the control center
- Polls RS485 equipment data from the expansion units, and sends RS485 commands to the expansion units
- Converts probes measurements (RF, DC/DC, AC, TV/RADIO quality of service) and stores (maps) data in its memory
- Act as a store and forward repeater of radio data coming for other remote sites
