Field of application

This tiny probe is built to signal audio silence. It was designed to be connected to any brand of remote monitoring unit. The input incorporates a user-settable amplifier and accepts balanced and unbalanced audio from any audio source with a maximum dynamic range of 2Vpp.

Outputs and alarm

There are 2 outputs: an analog output that translates the peak input signal into a 0 to 5V voltage, and an open-collector contact that closes to ground when an alarm occurs.

The only alarm condition is audio silence after a user-settable period of time. The unit can be powered from a nominal 12V source (9-18 Vdc).

Indicators

The ANT159 ASP has 2 LEDs that can take on 3 colors: red, yellow and green. The audio LED changes color based on the audio level, the status LED changes color based on the audio alarm condition. 4 preset user-settable timeouts are available between detection of an audio fault and alarm activation.

Connectors

Wiedmueller female audio input connector, standard 9-pin sub-D output connector. Installation on the ANT probe rack or as a standalone unit.
